There are TONS of cute clothes that are good quality that are not $45 or $70. I'm not a fan of the big-box store clothes - I prefer clothes that fit right and don't fall apart in the wash.

Check out Gooby, Doggie Design, I See Spot.. (all retail around $20-25 for hoodies, tanks, sweaters) Gosh even some of the most darling stuff from Cha Cha Couture and Ruff Ruff Couture is under $40. Ruff Ruff & Meow tanks are cute. DogChewz NYC makes awesome clothes. Puppia/Pinkaholic also has some cute stuff.

Pet Edge is hit or miss. The only thing I've gotten from there that was OK were their solid basic hoodies. The quality is cheap (they pill after a couple washes and they are thin) but at least they are cut properly. The dresses and T-shirts are thin and cheapy and you have to spend over $60.

I've seen all of this stuff at the trade shows and there is a distinct difference between the $10 items and the $20 items. Loki has 3 Gooby fleece hoodies that he wears almost daily in the winter and I wash them weekly and they still look great even into their second winter. They were $22 each. Sam has two I See Spot shirts she wears constantly and they wash up like new. They were all of $18. I See Spot even has an "outlet" on their website. AND they are MADE IN THE USA!!! So is Ruff Ruff Couture, Dog Chewz NYC, Ruff Ruff and Meow...

You can go to any of those designer's websites and look for their store locator to see what local stores carry them. Off the top of my head I can think of Parker's Pets and Dog-A-Holics downtown. There are tons of shops out in the suburbs - almost every city has one. Happy Shopping!
