Adult weight is a wild guess unless the breeder is very experienced (rare these days) with and knowledgeable of the lineage, the parents(very few), grand parents(almost none), and siblings(are you freakin kidding me?) of both of the dogs being bred. And is the kind of person that will tell you the truth without regard to what they think you want to hear. There is no formula that will offer anything more than entertainment while you wait to see how your puppy will turn out.
Once you have a good working knowledge of the particular lines you are working with you can use past history to develop a formula that will give much better accuracy. That is where the various formula's come from, but they are completely useless when applied as a general rule. They will occasionally work, but even a stopped clock is right twice per day. |
