You could say I'm new to having my dog, even though I've had her since she was a puppy- I had to give her to my sister for a year and a half due to housing complications. I recently got her back and I want to make sure I do things right now that she's "mine" again.
Please recommend dog food to me- she seems to do fine with what we've been giving her, but if it's bad for her I want to change it ASAP.
I can't do the homecooking thing even though i'd LOVE to be able to, but let's be honest I can't even cook for myself...
Thank you!!!
Amanda is right- the dog food industry is so confusing and just when you think you've found a great food- you find out something's wrong with it. So i too would do your research.

Generally speaking- stay clear of anything with bi-products listed in its ingredients. Stay away from corn as many dogs are allergic to it. Look for ingredients that you recognize chicken, fish, veggies, rice, potato...

If you are looking for somewhere to start- some brands that I would probably feed (i home cook) are Wellness, Merricks has a new food- Before Grain- I personally like grain free foods but that is just preference..... Nature's Variety has a few great kibbles... Orijen has had a few controversies in the past- but I still think it is a good food.

good luck Its hard and daunting- but you have to feel good about what you feed... and to me that means feeding the best ingredients possible.
