Daisy and I just had our first puppy ever....Daisy is 3 yrs old and 9#. The daddy is so small (5#)we had quite a time getting puppies without a ladder.
The first puppy is a little boy and is 5.8 oz. I was surprized the puppy was so big. I can't remember where the chart is that tells about the birth weight and the approx. adult size. If any one remembers where to find it, I would appreciate it.

Also Daisy is really licking at the cord. Is this normal? I think it has finally quit seeping blood. She took the tie right off. Her after birth is out.

Also how long before I should be concerned about the puppy beginning to suckle. He is trying to find lunch but so far no luck. He is 1 hour old.
