hello everyone!
i haven't been here in awhile, ive been so busy with school ive neglected a lot of the forums..
so a little refresher background information about this situation
i got mickey as my 9th birthday present from my parents (i'm an only child and ive always wanted a puppy i used to drag my toy puppy around the house and pretended it was a real puppy... and eventually my parents got sick of me doing this and crying they got me a puppy: i am not even sure how i ended up with a yorkie. but i think it was my nanny's idea. i went to a house and picked up mickey and we came home)
anyways, like many children i loved my dog and wanted to cuddle with it and play with it. i guess mickey didn't like that. then i stopped as i got older. but i realized that mickey absolutely hates me! this actually happened since i stopped "bothering" mickey. (i'm 21 now)
normally this is how mickey acts when i'm home
ex. 1 he'll run straight to my mom when we both come into the house (this is even after i haven't seen him for awhile)
ex. 2 my mom and mickey are ont he couch watching tv. i come sit next to mickey, he gets up and moves far away from me
ex. 3 he never comes near me. with the exception, if i have food he'll come, if i don't he avoids me
the things that he did differently that day that made me so upset that i cried (literally!)
ex. 1 when my mom says "ko ja ja" (korean for lets sleep in baby language) mickey runs to her room and hops on the bed and gets himself ready for bed. this time when my mom said this, i ran and lay next to my mom's side. my mom comes in but mickey refuses to come in at all! then from the door he barks and tries to get my mom to follow him. it old my mom that she should and he led her to the couch and jumped up to it and got snuggled as if he were to go to sleep. he was signalling to my mom that they should sleep on the couch cuz i was on the bed.
ex. 2 my mom was out and it was just me and mickey. i woke up and showered and went into my mom's room to blow dry my hair (i didnt bring my blow dryer). mickey was napping inside my mom's walk in closet. i looked and said good morning mickey! he didn't even look up or even opened his eyes. normally when we do this he pokes his head up acknowloges me then goes back to sleep. except this time he didn't at all
am i overreacting? i'm sooo sad that mickey, my dog that i recieved as a birthday present is no longer my dog. this makes me want to buy another yorkie so the new yorkie will become my own dog and loves me instead of ignoring me.
