My girls are 5 1/2 and 1 1/2. I take them out 4 times a day: 7 am, noon, 4-5 pm & 9/10 ish. When they're puppies it should definitely be every hour until they can handle holding it for longer. Once they can, you'll be able to extend your indoor periods bit by bit.
