This will be tough because this is part of dog language
He is asking permission from a more dominant dog to have something
The barking when someone comes in is also a sign that he is a little anxious

You can train him with No Bark
But it's going to take sometime and persistence
Try to set up a situation that will get him to bark
Say .... No Bark
and when he stops
Say Good Boy and treat him
and everytime he barks again ..... Good Boy and a treat
He'll get the message r
