I just saw this thread and wanted to say Congradulation to you and your husband! That is so exciting to be adopting from a rescue group. 30 aplicants wating the same dog had to have been stressful! And they picked you guys, how cool is that !
I can't wait to see pictures of your new little guy! I think changing his name is a good thing, make him more of a little boy dog! Give him a new idenity to fit in your family ! He will soon learn fast
