Snoopy just goes crazy over the squirrels in our backyard. He tenses up and makes a high pitched whine if he sees one. Sometimes we let him out to bark at them, and he calms back down if they run away. But he can't stay outside, and he goes nuts if we don't let him out. So mommy has to 'make the squirrels go away' (close the blinds...)

My question is this: should I try to calm him down? close the blinds? let him go out to chase them away over and over? let him bark at them through the glass? My feeling is to let him out for a little while, then close the blinds if the squirrels are still hanging out. He's my first dog, so I really have no idea.
