Angry My 4-year-old YT is so bad, I need new floors. Please help.

I have two YTs, one is 4-years-old (boy, Beemer) and the other is 3-years-old (girl, Alexis). Usually, Lexi is a very good girl who only takes after Beemer when she feels like being bad or on days where it is rainy or too cold to go outside.

Currently, Beemer has been causing some problems for my husband and myself because he marks his territory about 10 times every day. When we leave the house, we keep our dogs in our master bedroom. That means that they have a place to keep warm on their bed or go into the bathroom and lay on the tile, go potty on a puppy pad, or use their doggie door to go outside and go potty. Now, Beemer never goes #2 in our room, just #1. He seems to mark relatively in the same spots, but there are so many of them, it is practically the whole room! He NEVER uses the puppy pad if he doesn't want to go outside.

Our carpet in our bedroom is sooo bad, we want to change it out. We woud like wood, but we are afraid that he would ruin it. We like travertine, but it's such a cold-type of floor. I also don't want our choices for our house to depend on whether or not Beemer is going to pee on it. We don't even have kids yet! Am I making any sense? I hope I am not rambling. I just need to find a way to solve this problem of his of marking.

Our bed also has a gap underneath it small enough for Beemer to crawl under. I have observed that he likes to mark and then run under the bed. He feels like we can't get to him...it is his safe haven. I asked my husband to close off the gap so that Beemer will have nowhere to hide. Maybe, just maybe that will stop him or at least reduce the amount that he marks.

I have spoken to several trainers, even tried to get the Dog Whisperer to come out and help me, but the Dog Whisperer doesn't help in these types of situations, and other trainers didn't have too much advice to give. Our doggie door goes out to the sideyard, so it makes it difficult for me to keep Beemer on a leash, and take him outside and wait until he goes potty to praise him. I need something new and effective. Any ideas?
