Hi,
I've lurked around here for a while while I was searching for my two yorkies. And, thanks for all of the helpful info posted. I really appreciate it.
Now, I have been asked to adopt a little male yorkie, around 1 yr old, not neutered yet. He was rescued from an elderly woman who corned him, yelled at him and most likely, swiped at him with a broom.
The little guy is showing some signs of aggressions. . . bites when you do something he doesn't like, such as putting a harness on him, putting a leash on the harness, putting your hand in his crate, etc.
He is somewhat house-trained but is marking. Will sit in your lap, but may suddenly bite if startled.
Ignores other dogs; or hides under the sofa. Plays with his ball. Loves his ball!
Does anyone have experience with this type of situation? If so, please shoot me an email with any tips. I really want to know if the biting can be overcome with training.
I clicker trained my two yorkies. They are fabulous cuddle bugs! I am thinking that the positive clicker training will work, but will take time.
Any thoughts???
Thanks!
