I am thinking it maybe a combo. of the dark and being in a crate, or by itself. I'd use nightlights your puppy. Also plenty of reassurance. It is really dark where i live too, and is 9 months old. She is always with me though, so I have not had any fear issues with her. i think yorkie's rather be with their owners, and have that connection all the time instead of being all alone. Especially as a puppy. My Suzi behaves like a little baby sometimes, SO I really feel that she just wants to be with us, and have our attention.
