Mum,

You do have a little pickle on your hands that probably won't be able to be fixed if the luncheon is recent.

Training will take some time. For the luncheon, as I did with mine, I kept them in a separate part of the house. It won't hurt them a bit to not be a part of the luncheon and probably it is for a short period of time. We love our dogs but their instincts are based on a "pack" and you are the alpha.

In regard to the training. I train using positive reinforcement and ignoring bad behavior. If your pup is jumping on people they, people, need to turn way from the dog. If the dog continues to jump as the person turns then perhaps 5 minutes in a crate, consistently, will help to instill that pavlovian response.

Lastly, on the face licking. I have a niece who LOVES my dogs and all dogs. The problem is she is terribly allergic to dog saliva (along with other environmental things). Teach your dog to "lick" based on the word "Kiss" and then that is it. This will start with you. "Give Kiss" means one lick and then she must stop until the command is given. If the command is not given then she needs to be removed from your face.

Hopefully these ideas will assist you.
