This is a great post by the way!!! I've lived in Lancaster, Pa. all 49 years of my life. It's not far to Phila.,Washington,Baltimore, Gettysburg and still rural to enjoy country life. We live in the suburbs. The gas is $1.59 per gallon right now. Weis Grocery stores have dropped prices on 2000 items and price-Froze prices on 400 plus other items. We have alot of really great grocery outlets too! Our winters are mild, Last year we had 8 inches for the whole winter. There are still tourists to see the Amish, You just ignore those areas. Cons are: alot of people from the city are moving out here to avoid the violence and then they start trouble. Esp. bringing drugs into the development. I put up No Tresspassing Signs and Beware of dog signs!!! The Police do visit the development alot more!!! That helps!! The summers aren't overly hot, But, Somedays the humidity is awful!! Thank-Goodness O.C. maryland is a 3 hour trip and we rent an apartment that allows my furbabies!!! I'd love to live in Florida with my Uncle but the Heat would be too much for me. I also have always wanted to visit the U.K. Because it reminds me of home minus the rainy weather!!
