You'll find lots of posts in the training section of this site - very informative! Also, I got the book "Houstraining for Dummies"- found it very helpful. Although i didn't crate train - I used the ideas from the book to create my own version.

First and foremost - block off the family room and lay down blankets (so you can wash them to remove the smell after accidents). Then watch the puppy, play with the puppy and then correct the puppy when it starts to go.

If you have to turn away to do chores, watch tv, brush teeth - any distractions - then put the pup in a crate.

Good luck and don't give up - my Bailey was housetrained at 4 mos and reliable at 6 months.
