I actually have Chloe' in a harness, strapped in her carseat.

Myah, is in her crate, buckled with the seatbelt.

Chloe' gets carsick, so being up high helps. Myah does great in her crate, so that is where she gets to be.

We travel a lot up to Canada and it is a 12 hour trip and both are always buckled up so I don't have to worry about them.
