I think 6 months is a great age, especially with your guy being a good size at this time. We had Ranger neutered at 6 mos, and he's never lifted his leg. He also had 4 baby teeth pulled. He was 3.2lbs. I got Ryder at 14 months, and had him neutered at 15mos. He was 2.7lbs and did great! Despite being older, he DOES NOT mark (thank God), and is the sweetest thing ever. However, I think that's a crap shoot and better all around to do it as soon as its safe.
