You are a sissy from MN. You can come visit me anytime, have been cooking southern food for many years. Must say that I love the food in MN too, wild rice soup was one of my favorites.
If I can't get fresh peas, buy frozen and cook them with ham hocks or salt pork, "bet you don't know what that is?". My step son was born and raised in MN and he still can't eat the collard greens. His Father is from MN, and now he loves his wife's greens, black eyed peas and okra.
