Update on Moose Hi everyone,
Thanks so much for the replies yesterday, its nice to have fellow yorkie owners and lovers to ask for advice!
Moose has not thrown up at all since yesterday at 1pm. He hasn't had any diarrhea (he never had any) and he is eating and drinking normally. He is also peeing and pooping just like normal. In his last bout of throwup yesterday afternoon, there was a small tag in it that appeared to have been swallowed whole, he didnt chew it. It was one of those inspection sticky tags that probably came off of a Christmas gift. Since then, Moose has been his normal self. He rested well last night and is running, playing, eating, drinking, peeing and pooping just like normal. I guess the tag was what he was trying to expel from his stomach.
I read all of your comments about things that are undigestable and that it could cause an obstruction and spoke with Moose's vet; she says that because he is peeing and pooping normally with no vomit or diarrhea that the tag was probably the culprit and to continue to watch him closely for any signs of discomfort.
Moose is well and back to his normal puppy self; he will be watched like a hawk for the next few days to make sure that the tag was indeed causing the problem. I can assure you that he will be rushed to the vet at any sign of trouble! But it appears to be an "oh-my-goodness-i-cant-believe-he-ate-that" incident. Thanks so much for your replies and help!! |
