It all comes down to training.

I would get a good friend that is patient and have them knock at the door. Naturally she's gonna get all excited, so you show her a treat and make her sit and stay. When she is calm, yell for your friend to come inside. Keep showing her the treat. When they walk inside, have her keep staying like that and after a few seconds, give her the treat. Keep repeating. Do NOT tell her to sit and stay before your friend knocks... I learned that on "It's me or the dog" and I can't remember the reason, but it teaches a bad habit.

So now on to following my own advice!
