Partis and goldens do not meet YTCA standards and cannot be shown. They are however accepted by AKC as being pure bred yorkies and can be registered. Biewers on the other hand, are not accepted by the AKC. However there are other registries that to regester them.

And yes Nancy1999, they are registered as pure bred Yorkshire Terriers. They come from 2 purebred yorkies and therefore ARE purebred yorkies. A 15 pound yorkie does not meet standards either, nevertheless, it is purebred yorkie if it has two purebred parents.

The Biewer's origins are in Germany, but it's heritage is the same. it is the product of two traditional colored yorkshire terriers, frequently of Championship backgrounds, who both carrtied the piebald gene and passed it on to their offspring resulting in a tri colored puppy.

The breeders of the off colored yorkies are just as concerned about the health and temprament of their puppies as those who produce the traditional colored yorkies. There are good and ad breeders in both lots.

In fact the chances of buying a poorly bred traduitional colored yorkie is much greater than buying a poorly bred off colored yorkie. due to the cost of the off colored ones, most off colored yorkie breeders take very good care of their dogs, as opposed to puppy millers who buy and breed the chepest dogs that they can find.

Off colored yorkie breeders are just as responsible as the traditional colored breeders, we too have reputations to protect. we breed the off colors because we believe that these dogs are beautiful and that the YTCA should not have the right to dictate as to which colors should survive, and people have the right to own the these gorgeous dogs.

A puppy of any breed or color is only as good as it's breeder. and there are good and bad on both sides.
