Brought Piper home from the vet yesterday (through a very bad snow storm). She looks a little funny with the whole back right hind quarter completely shaved. She has a pretty good size incision with 8 pretty pink stitches. She walking on 3 legs and the vet said she should start to use the leg in about 10 days. I leave a little shirt on her because I don't want her touching the stitches or get cold. I felt so bad for her yesterday when she first got home. She is trained to potty outside and the first thing she wanted to do is go outside. I bundle her up in shirt and coat. It's snowing the wind is blowing and it's about 10 degrees. Here she was trying to pee and poop on 3 legs, on snow and ice, with the wind almost blowing her over. She accomplished everything very quickly and was back inside. What a little trooper. She is on pain meds and antibiotic and seems to be comfortable.
