No idea about the show stuff. Black & Gold is one of the optional yorkie colors on akc registration though ::shrugs::
All I know is I also love the black coat! Bender is nearly 2 years old and thankfully he didn't change to blue. My husband and I were hoping he'd stay dark. Of course we would have loved him no matter what, but we got lucky. He's only a tiny bit over 4# and looks exactly like a puppy. Everyone he walks by thinks he is one. His fur is between cottony and silky. It's very pretty, and lays down well when his coat is longer, but he seems happier with a short coat.
