We had a puppy once when we got her she had a bad ear infection in both ears.We took her to 3 vets and was given different meds and nothing worked i was given advice from a spaniel owner and after one treatment infection gone and never returned.
Here's the items you need to buy from drug store if your interested.

16 Oz. Isopropyl Alcohol
Boric Acid Powder
Gentian Violet

Blue Power Ear Wash Recipe
INGREDIENTS:

16 Oz. Isopropyl Alcohol

4 Tablespoons Boric Acid Powder

16 Drops Gentian Violet Solution 1%

Mix together in alcohol bottle and shake well, shake this solution every time you use it to mix the Boric Acid Powder. Either a baby ear syringe or a plastic squirt bottle work well for putting the solution in the ear
