We have some crazy traditions..lets see
We do:
-The twelve grapes at midnight
-We grab luggage and run around the block, this brings more traveling in the upcoming year.
-We sweep the door step to sweep off any bad things that might have come into the house during the year
-We get balloons that both say 2008 and 2009. At midnight we pop all the 2008 balloons and make a wish as we let go of all the 2009 balloons.
- We do an extensive cleaning of the house and then take a bath in lavender and roses. This is to cleanse ourselves from the bad things of the previous year.
- We must buy entirely new outfits to wear in order to start the new year in a new pair of clothes. This gives luck for new things.
-The whole family must wear the same color underwear. I have no clue why, but my mom strictly enforces it and even checks everyone.
