I certainly understand the OP's frustration. I have zero tolerance for peeing in the house. Bailey was potty trained at 4 mos. and reliable at 6 mos. Puppyhood was very trying for me - and I'm sure it can be for others.
Potty training wasn't easy. It took the dedication of both me and my husband. The process is simple - the work was hard.
1. Block off the family room - leave no hiding places for the pup.
2. Lay down some blankets to save the carpet and wash after accident to remove the smell.
3. Watch, watch, watch the puppy. All eyes on the dog
4. If you cant look at the dog, put her in a kennel.
5. Catch her in the act, say "outside!", scoop her up and go outside.
6. Once outside - say "go potty".
7. Praise and treat when she successfully goes outside
8. Repeat as necessary.
Optional: Get a service bell, place on the floor. Then as you scoop up the pup, take her paw and tap the bell and say "outside" . We did this with Bailey - and now she rings the bell to go potty. Its hilarious!!!!
While at work - she's in a xpen all day - with water and pee pad. Of course, when she was young - she peed all over and chewed her pee pad - but I didn't care - I just accepted the fact that I would have to clean her pen everyday (no big deal - she was worth it). And of course, as she got older, she quit chewing the pads and began to hold it all day around 8 mos. I bought a piece of vinyl from Home depot and put that under the xpen - again to save the floors. ($10)
Again, I have no tolerance for peeing in the house - so potty training was very important to me - and we dedicated all our free time to her training until she was successful. A few months of dedication have resulted in a lifetime of trust. Other than an occasional accident (which are less than 8) Bailey has been 100% potty trained since 6 mos of age.
Good luck - and feel free to pm me - I will be glad to help anyway I can!!!
