I had a full ACL replacement 6 years ago after a skiing accident. If you rehab correctly and do EVERYTHING the doctors say, you should be much better off in the long run. I was told if I didn't get it done I would suffer arthritis early in life. Two metal bolts and a replacement hamstring ligament in my knee later, I am doing just fine. I am sure age plays a roll in recovery and lond term results as well...

Best of luck!
