We don't have grass, so his pee place is our landscaped gravel yard - if any of the gravel gets up on the smooth sidewalk accidentally, I think it looks like kibble does on the kitchen floor to him and he tries to eat it, or at least chew on it. I also have no idea what to do about this, except to watch him like a hawk and firmly say "drop it" and pry it out of his mouth every time he picks up something unacceptable.

Yeah, that. Gracie Ruth and Yogi both do this. There really isn't much you can do except to watch them very close, take the bad things away and give them something acceptable. I'll see one of them with something and pick up a toy or treat hold it out to them and say, "Trade ya." They'll usually drop what they have to come get the offered item. But then again, since they know they shouldn't have rocks or leaves in their mouths, they'll scamper around just out of reach with mischief twinkling in their eyes.

Because they love it when Momma will play with them. Even if I don't know all the rules of the game.
