Both of my daughters also have rescue dogs...Zig the silky terrier was rehomed because his mom had to go to the nursing home - he is the best little dog I've ever seen! Then there's Peanut the chi, and Diesel the boxer - he's gorgeous and so well-behaved. His family didn't want him because he has a scar on his haunches.
