Default Mouthing (gentle biting)

Do you let your puppies bite? I have raised big dogs before and did this kind of play with my puppies as long as they didn't bite too hard. Even the pit bulls were gentle play biters and would stop when I said to.

I have been telling Daisy not to bite as one of my stepdaughters is worried about her biting her daughter. I am not having much success stopping her from biting completely, but she is very gentle; not like she is with her toys at all. It is more what they call mouthing I think.

I know dog trainers don't want you to permit it, but I never had any harm come from it with other dogs.

(And just because this is so cute: Daisy, who is 4 months old, was getting hard to pick up as she would dodge your hands. I used the clicker and treats to teach her "pick up". Now when you say that she puts her little paws on your hand as you reach to get her, like a toddler holding his arms up. She is just so adorable.)
