Glad to know some others have experienced tonsillitis with their pups. I had never heard of that before today.
However, I am still leaning towards pancreatitis because it showed up the same time she started eating the fried turkey, but I will not go against the vet this is his patient not mine.
I hate when my patients try to doctor themselves or their kids; so I know my boundries. |
If I wouldn't have suggested doing a bile acids test on Ellie (she didn't even have very concerning symptoms that leaned toward a problem), we wouldn't have known that there is an issue. I don't think suggesting tests is always a bad thing. People know their own bodies and people who are close to their dogs knows their bodies very well. I take what the vet has to say very seriously and then come to a conclusion or, when I don't know what to do, I hand the problem over to her. It works well for us. Besides, you wouldn't be telling them what medication to give, you just want to rule out something. I think that is very fair...
If the correct test has been done to rule out pancreatitis, then I would be more confident with the diagnosis. Maybe your Yorkie has both.
