Panting isn't necessarily an indication of thirst....it's their body's way of controlling temperature. You sweat when you are hot...they pant.

The success in potty training could be nothing more than she's getting older....and better able to "hold" it.

Fluids are necessary for all bodily functions. All animals can survive for weeks without food...without water it's just a few days. Unless it was medically necessary I would never restrict water for my animals.
