Awww...

If it makes you feel any better, my Maximus will be 17 weeks this Thursday and he still pees in the floor at times. Sometimes, he will be standing right next to his pee pad and pee on the floor. We are also crate training, but as much as I can, we let him run around our bathroom (our master bath is large) with his pee pads. The other problem I am having his him playing with his pee pad. I am thinking about buying one of those pee pad holders.

I do get jealous of others that already have house broken pets. My aunt has a dachshund that is a little over a year, and she is house broken. I want to let him roam around the house but I just don't feel comfortable letting him do that yet. As much as I can I will sit and hold him in the living room while we are all in there, or let him sit on my bed with us (although, I really have to watch him there because he has peed on my comforter a time or two, no signs whatsoever, just standing there like he isn't doing anything, little rascal). I try to be really, really clean with him because I'm so scared my dh will get upset if the house starts smelling (he is not an indoor dog person). I bought some Petzyme from PetSmart that I use whenever he pees on the floor, bed, carpet, etc. I'm sure there are other products just as good too. I also clean his crate with it when he has accidents.

It is very frustrating, I understand. It will take some time. Just remember he is a baby and he is still learning. I have started praising him and rewarding him when I see him potty on his pad, or poo on his pad, as mentioned above. It seems to frustrate me more when he doesn't pee on the pad when I'm in a hurry and don't have time to clean it up (or after I step in it, lol). He has taught me lots of patience since his arrival on November 1.

((((HUGS))))
