Having your Yorkie wear a collar isn't an issue at all. No more than it is for any other dog. The risks are the same. Have your vet evaluate your Yorkie. He'll feel the structural integrity of your pups trachea. If it's well structured and thick, I wouldn't worry in the slightest, no more than you would any of your other dogs.

But if your Yorkie already has been discovered to have a thin or weak trachea, a low lying harness, one that's non-sternal might be best for him/her.
