Well if any of my yorkies could be described as a piggy yorkie, it would be Lucky. He is 4 years old and within the last year or so he became quite a bit over weight. At his last vet visit, she was concerned that his weight could be affecting his knees. She estimated him at being almost 2 lbs over weight. So for the last year, we changed him over to diet/lean dog food (only the amount reccomended on the package) and cut way back on doggie snacks; not that they got alot, but now they get even less. I am happy to say that he is losing weight (it takes a while) and we even notice that he plays more often and is more active now.

As for your 7 month old...... feeding 3 X a day is fine as long as you are not over feeding on the amount of intake. Does she eat it really fast? I understand that if they eat fast, they will feel hungry more often. Lucky eats his food in mere seconds; that is something we still need to figure out.....how to s-l-o-w him down.
