Sounds like he's learned when he barks, you wake up
Where is he sleeping at night? He needs to be in a confined area, like a crate or play pen when you cannot be there to supervise. You never know what kind of mischief he will get into. Once you have him confined, phfgkl is right, he should be able to hold it through the night. I would let him bark it out - it'll take a couple of days of no sleep but he'll eventually learn he can't always get what he wants by throwing a temper tantrum.
