I actually give my baby rawhides about once a week usually when i'm gone for a few hours to keep them occupied. My puppies (one's a maltese and another is a yorkie) loves the rawhides and they always fight for eachothers. I do notice that sometimes she pukes but i'm not sure what causes her to puke and she does do that choking/coughing noise but when I usually call her name, she stops. Could this be because of the rawhides? Is there a reason why we should not feed them rawhides so I can stop giving it to them? Thanks so much!

Rawhides are dangerous because they are not digestible and can get stuck in the intestinal tract and it causes a very expensive and painful surgery. A safer (and slightly more expensive) alternative is bully sticks. It is all natural and digestible. I've never heard of a dog not liking them though! I would also not give them any type of chew unattended because of choking hazards. Instead give them a kong with treats or peanut butter inside.
