I personally wouldn't spend the money on the vet visit unless the curiosity is more than you can stand.
If you put her on a table facing you and take her head in your left hand. Use the right hand under her abdomen and feel just past the rib cage for the uterus you should be able to locate it. If you have trouble just shave her belly and use a lubricant on your hand ( like a self breast exam) it is amazing what you will be able to feel. At this stage the uterus should be filling with fluid making it feel less like a hard boiled egg and more like a small water balloon. If she relaxes you may be able to find a little head or two in there.
I start checking at 25 days and can normally count "marbles" before the uterus begins to expand. |
