Any suggestions for brands/names to look for? This will be Maddie's first winter. Since there can be a lot of ice and snow, I start buying stuff early.

What about getting boots? Are they helpful, or is there another way to protect the pads on her paws. I can't believe I'm worrying about snow so soon - but were known for having mid-October blizzards and early Nov heat waves to melt it.
