Not all yorkies in rescue have been "abandoned" is the story for 3 of our 4 boys. DJ was from an owner in S FL and taken well away to the Seminole County shelter. Zack's owner died and the family did not want him. Zeke was turned in. Harley D was probably abandoned by a BYB because of his age. Not being "lazy" but I work rotating shifts and an older rescue dog is better for both the dog and me. To bring a puppy in at this time would be unfair to the puppy. Maybe in 5 years when I retire it will be different I am able to devote the time for their care, well being and give them attention and play, and for them, the attention and love that they ones need. When they jump up on the recliner and put their heads on my legs, there is no greater joy or love shown. A lot of times the owners are going into a nursing home or assisted living facility and they have to give up their pets. This is where rescue groups and shelters really shine and find new homes for the pets. These pets usually have been well taken care of, trained and "potty" trained (outside or pads). Tks for listening. Bob
