I am so sorry for your loss. When i lost my 2 yorkies within a year of each other, it was awful. I also wanted an adult dog, as one of our previous yorkies had been adopted as an adult. I looked long and hard and had given up (my husband and I both work full-time, so rescue and some breeders did not help us), and told a breeder i was speaking to that i really wanted an adult and she had one!!!! I had contacted her about getting a pup because we could not find an adult. She was not advertising the adult, but was waiting for the right person(s) before adopting her out - she was too small to breed, and we were required to have her fixed, and we did it.
Things will work out for you - there will never be a replacement for your little one, but I bet your heart is big enough to embrace another one (the sooner the better)! Best wishes.
