My boy has always hated getting his nails trimmed. He starts singing a song before I even touch his nails. So I bought a mini cordless dremel. And when I sand every nail I give him a piece of chicken.
He just lays on his back and lets me sand down his nails now. He might squeak once or twice but I just give him another treat. He is doing real well at hardly makes a sound anymore. I recommed the dremel and positive reinforcement. It is working for me.
