Some vets appear to think it is less toxic than other drugs and do recommend it occasionally.
I really don't get it when these vets can just as soon sell you something that is much safer.
Aspirin is by far better but some drugs made for dogs may be safer... Your Yorkie sounds very sick.
I would get a second opinion.
