First of all I find I have to make my male stand. If he is on my lap he fights me so hard I can't do it but if he has to stand he can't fight to hard.

I only nip the very end... I read you can do this every few days so if your dogs nails are long, just nip the tips, every 3-4 days and over time they will get shorter...

It also may help to wet the feet so the hair can get brushed away and you can see better what you are doing!!!
