The above poster is right - 7 weeks is REALLY young. Unfortunately, you already have the dog so there's not much you can do about it. They will cry for the first couple of nights. They are separated from their mom and their littermates, and they are in a new, scary place. You need to just let them bark it out. If you give in and let them out, they will learn to bark to get what they want. Letting them sleep with you is one solution but in my opinion, is not the best one. Even if you want him to sleep with you eventually, you need to be sure he is big enough to jump off and on the bed or he knows how to use stairs, and most importantly, he is potty trained.
The ticking stuffed animal is a great idea. What you can do now, is cover his crate to make it feel safer, more like a den. Also, put a heating pad in there to keep him warm (like his littermates used to), and maybe put a shirt with your smell in there. Good luck.
