There is a spray/scent available at pet stores that you can put on the pad to encourage him to go there. I haven't used it but have heard of others that have success with it. It must be a little confusing to him to now know it's ok to potty "in the house", but he will likely go to the scent. And of course make sure you de-scent the accident areas, or that will become his go to place. With praise, this smart guy will get it, I'm sure.
