her stone is assumed to be Struvite, I ask today. (I remembered!) but unless they remove the stone and have it analyzed they don't know this 100%

It is struvite then and she absolutely does need to be on prescription food for now. She may end up on low protein later. I guess they will all have to fed on a schedule because I wouldn't take the chance of her getting into the other brand.
On the bright side,it isn't the worst prescription food ever: Royal Canin Veterinary Diet Canine Urinary SO 13
Because of the amount of protein in this food (not much at all), I don't think dogs are kept on it long term. Science Diet also has a food for this that you might like better but I'm not sure of the ingredients right now. |
