I just read a story in our local paper about being able to finance a puppy. Petland and other pet stores will let you make payments on your new friend because they know some people can't afford to pay $1000.00 to $5000.00 for a pet. If you don't make the payments they won't repo the dog but it will go on you credit report. If the dog dies, well then you get a 25% discount on the purchase of a new dog.
I hated seeing this news story. That is just one more way to keep the puppy mills in business if you ask me. If you can't afford to buy it in the first place, then you can't afford to take care of it either.
