I have never cut my girls hair , BUT I did take them to petsmart grooming once (and only once at that one
) and they practically shaved her face down like a weird chihuahua and I think the whiskers were cut to. I didn't seem to bother her , but I have heard you are not suppose to cut the whiskers for balance( i think that's the reason) ? But that may be an old wives tale , I'm not sure. I think it's fine to cut the top of the hair if you don't want it to grow into a small or long topknot. Sorry I'm not much help , but this may bump it for the more experienced groomers out there
