Default Fishy Smell (Kinda Gross, Sorry)

Occasionally, Maggie has been known to omit a rather foul, "fishy" smell from her vagina. It is an actual clear discharge that wipes off on our furniture (and bodies! ) In the past, I'd attributed it to her heat/false pregnancy and such (I know the same thing sometimes occurs with humans during the menstrual cycle) but I assumed once she was spayed, it wouldn't be a problem. Once during her actual heat (I know some of you remember), I was worried that she had pyometra so we took her in and she got a course of antibiotics. Soon afterwards, we had her spayed. Her recent treatment and surgery make me doubt that she has any kind of infection but maybe I'm overlooking something? It's not very often, maybe every couple of months and it only lasts for a day or two. Any ideas? Should we call the vet?
